What we do

We handle the grant work for growing Victorian businesses.

Finding a grant is the easy part. Checking you really qualify, answering the criteria the way assessors score them, and keeping on top of the dates is where the time goes. That's the part we take on.

Straight answers

Not sure you're eligible? Ask before you lose a weekend to it.

  • “Can a sole trader get this one?”
  • “Do I have to put in my own money?”
  • “How much do you charge?”

Miss one eligibility rule and an application is usually rejected, however well it's written. We'll tell you early if the money isn't there for your business, and point you to what is.

You wrote

I'm a sole trader with no staff. Is it worth applying?

We replied

Probably not for most federal cash grants: they usually need a company, and hiring grants need employees. Council and industry grants can still fit, so we'll check those for you.

You wrote

What do you charge?

We replied

Nothing unless you win. If you do, 12% of the grant money you receive, capped at A$3,000 + GST. On a $7,500 grant that's $900 + GST, paid once the money is in your account.

Who it's for

Built for Victorian businesses with a real project

Grants mostly fund something new. These are the projects we see funded most often across the programs we track.

New equipmentMachinery, technology and fit-outs that lift output
New product or R&DPrototypes, testing and commercialisation
ExportingTrade shows, market visits and export marketing
HiringWage support for new staff and apprentices
Energy upgradesSolar, efficient equipment and electrification
ShopfrontsCouncil grants for façades, signage and access

Who this is for

  • Victorian companies (Pty Ltd), usually trading for 2+ years with around 5 to 19 staff and $250k to $10m turnover. That profile clears the entity, trading-age, staff and turnover rules of most grants we track.
  • Businesses with a real project: equipment, a new product or R&D, exporting, hiring, an energy upgrade or a shopfront fit-out.
  • Businesses in funded sectors: manufacturing, the defence supply chain, food, wine and agrifood, tourism and hospitality, clean energy.
  • Shopfront retailers and hospitality venues in a council with an open grant round, whatever your structure.
  • Businesses that can put in their share: many grants pay half the cost, or need $1 from you for every $1.

Who it's not for (yet)

  • Sole traders with no staff, unless a council or industry grant fits. Most federal cash programs need a company, and hiring money needs employees. If that's you, we'll say so up front and point you to the options that do fit.
  • Businesses under 12 months old looking for cash grants. Free programs and mentoring are usually a better first step.
  • Funding for day-to-day running costs or debts. Most grants fund new projects, not existing expenses.
  • Anyone who wants a guaranteed grant. Nobody can promise one; the funder decides.

How it works

From form to funded, in four steps

About three minutes from you to start. The written work is ours.

Tell us about your business

A short form: structure, staff, postcode and what you want funded.

Get your free shortlist

The open and upcoming grants you qualify for, each marked apply, fix first or skip, with the deadline and any co-contribution.

We prepare the application

Written answers, budget, quotes table and attachments, checked against common reasons for rejection.

You sign and submit

You read the finished application, sign the declarations and submit it in the funder's portal, usually in about 10 minutes. Then we track the reporting dates.

We do

  • Find grants that fit your business, postcode and council.
  • Check eligibility criterion by criterion.
  • Write every answer and build the budget.
  • Hand it over ready to submit, and keep copies.
  • Track reports and acquittals after you win.

You do

  • Answer a short questionnaire and send what only you have: quotes, financials, ABN details.
  • Approve and submit the final application. Nothing goes in without your OK.
  • Sign the declarations and any funding agreement. The grant is in your business's name.
  • Keep the receipts the grant requires. We remind you what's due.

Pricing

Nothing to pay unless you win.

Grant information is always free. You only pay us if a grant we prepared is approved.

It's free to prepare and apply. If you win, our fee is 12% of the grant money you receive, capped at A$3,000 + GST, due once the money is in your account. A $7,500 grant means a $900 + GST fee.

Where a funder doesn't allow percentage fees, a flat win-only fee applies instead: A$99 for grants up to $5,000, $750 up to $15,000, $1,500 up to $50,000, and $2,500 over $50,000. We confirm which applies in writing before we start.

Founding prices for our first clients. Fees are plus GST. Most grant rules don't let a success fee count as a project cost, so it's paid from your own funds once the grant money arrives. No upfront or admin fees. Help with your first report after a win is included; anything beyond that is optional and quoted first.

No guaranteesMost grants are competitive and the funder decides. Anyone who promises a grant isn't being straight with you.
You're the applicantYou sign the declarations and submit. We never sign for you, and we never lobby councils or officials.
IndependentNot affiliated with any government or council. Every listing on this site is free.
Not adviceNot legal, tax or financial advice, and no R&D Tax Incentive or other tax claims. Ask your accountant about tax on grant income.

FAQs

Questions, answered honestly

Something else? Email [email protected].

Do you submit the application for me?

We do the work; you press submit. We check eligibility, write every answer, build the budget and check the attachments. You read the finished application, sign the declarations and submit it in the funder's portal, usually in about 10 minutes. The application is in your business's name and we never sign anything for you. If a funder's rules expressly allow an agent to lodge, we can do it with your written OK after you've approved the final version.

How much does it cost?

Nothing unless you win. Your shortlist and eligibility check are free. If a grant we prepared is approved, our fee is 12% of the grant money you actually receive, capped at A$3,000 + GST, and due only once the money is in your account. For example, a $7,500 grant means a $900 + GST fee. Some grants don't allow percentage fees; for those it's a flat win-only fee: A$99 for grants up to $5,000, $750 up to $15,000, $1,500 up to $50,000 and $2,500 above that. We confirm which fee applies in writing before we start.

Can the success fee come out of the grant?

Usually not. Most grant rules don't let consultant or success fees count as a project cost, so you pay it from your business's own funds once the grant is approved. We'll check the rules for each grant and tell you before we start.

Who qualifies for the most grants?

In our analysis of the grants we track, a Victorian Pty Ltd company trading for 2+ years with 5 to 19 staff and a co-funded project qualifies for the most. Sole traders without staff qualify for far fewer cash grants, mainly council and industry-specific ones.

I'm a sole trader. Should I still apply?

Tell us about your business and we'll be straight with you. If nothing fits, we'll say so and point you to the free programs and council grants that might, rather than take a fee.

Which grants do you cover?

Federal, Victorian Government and Victorian council grants for businesses: the 90+ programs listed free on this site, checked daily against official sources.

Is this legal, tax or financial advice?

No. We prepare grant applications for you to approve. We don't do R&D Tax Incentive registrations or other tax claims (those need a registered tax agent). Talk to your accountant about the tax treatment of grant income, and about any change to your business structure.

What happens to my details?

We use them only to assess grants for your business and to contact you about the service. They're never sold or shared. Email [email protected] to see or delete them.
